Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions that might help.

How do I place an order?

After you fill out and submit the order form (here) I will be back in touch with a price estimate for the project.  Once we agree on that I will send over a payment link to purchase the frames.  Email david@saw-mitre.com to start an order too.

What is the typical turnaround time?

Currently, turnaround times are somewhere between 4 - 6 weeks, though I will provide a better estimate at the time of service.  Everything is handmade from scratch so it takes some time to do it right.   Larger quantity orders or larger frame sizes may take longer than 6 weeks.

Can you frame art other than photography?

Yes!  I do a variety of projects here and there.  Reach out to see what we can do.

Do you ship?

Yes, pretty much every frame that is made here is shipped.  I try to keep shipping as low as possible and will provide a shipping estimate when I provide a price quote.  Most single frame orders that don't have any sides measuring over 40" can be shipped flat rate.

International shipping is possible too.  Here's looking at you Australia!

Where is your wood sourced?

Most of our wood is sourced from the northeast U.S., most often from Vermont.

What type of matting to you use?

I use 8-ply, Rising Museum Board for the matting (unless you request 4-ply).  This board is 100% cotton fiber and has been used by high end galleries and museums since 1970.

What type of acrylic or glass do you use?

All my prices include non-glare acrylic made by Acrylite.  For an additional fee, non-glare and UV resistant acrylic by Acrylite, or TruVue Museum Glass can be added.

Do you offer volume discounts?

For single orders of 4 or more frames a scaled discount is provided.
